The night sky is suddenly ablaze with color. A sore year has come and everyone is outdoors marveling at the spectacular presentment of fireworks. Roses filled my senses. Thanksgiving rolls virtually and people celebrate with ten-course meals. Its Christmas time, the bells are ringing and the choruses singing. The children turn tail to the Christmas tree to tear open their many presents under the jovial Christmas tree. This is my world. This is the Philippines.

I watched a mouth laugh. Laughing because it had been told to do so by the brain, which thought that my newly confessed unfamiliarity with the streets and places I drag by everyday, was something to laugh at.
