Philosophy of Nursing
This paper will inform my personal school of thought of nursing. After completing the readings for this week, I sit down to compose my personal philosophy of nursing. I began to hypothesise about all the things that are important to me as a nurse. I started to recall some important words from the text such as altruism, responsibility, and dignity. It is my belief thatnurses should possess all of these qualities and put on them in their day to day interactions. Treating the forbearing with dignity and jimmy should be among the things that takes priority in nursing care.
My personal philosophy of nursing is health promotion through education. I descry that most times patients experience health problems because they dont know how to prevent or manage the problem. Educating our patients about their malady processes and their medication helps to prevent an exacerbation of their disease process. Educating the patient begins with discerning whats going on that particular patient. After school term down and talking to the patient and finding out only how much they know about whats going on with their health, I devise a precept plan for that patient. around of the teaching tools I use come from a mental imagery book that we have at our agency.
Some are the teaching tools are visual. This helps to reinforce teachings.They are divided according to disease processes. They explain what the disease is, what signs and symptoms to look for that may indicate an exacerbation, slipway to manage the disease process, and any special diet that the patient should be following. Next, I plot out days in which I will be chew uping the patient. During each visit, we wrangle a portion of the teaching tool. I also consider that the patient perform a verbal recall of teaching from the previous visit. This helps to ensure that the patient actually understands what is being instructed from visit to visit.
